Privacy & a Picket Fence: 2730 Smiley

February 5, 2012 , In: Residential Properties , With: No Comments

Maryland Heights is one of St. Louis’ quirky “in-between” communities. It’s not exactly North County but not exactly West County either, so in terms of real estate, it can often get overlooked. And that’s a shame, because it has some real treasures.

One of the most interesting spots in Maryland Heights is the semi-rural area around Smiley Road. Though it’s conveniently located minutes from almost anywhere, it’s also a place where you’ll find horses grazing and farmers tilling fields. I love the fact that most of the properties there are big and spread out, and this cute little bungalow is no different.

Built in 1941, it sits on a private, half-acre lot and would be a dream for an artist or gardener. Super clean inside and adjacent to one of my all-time favorite properties, the long-vacant but still exquisite Miers estate, this house was originally listed at $174,900 and has since been discounted $35,000. What a great deal, especially considering all the updates…

Listing courtesy of Kristie Weber, RE/MAX Gold, (636) 939-3800. More photos and info available here.

If you’d like a buyer’s agent to show you this adorable vintage retreat, I’d be happy to help!
