Fairytale Lover: 8600 General Grant

March 8, 2012 , In: Residential Properties , With: No Comments

As a North County gal, the area around S. Rock Hill & Watson is not exactly my home turf. But if there’s anything I remember about that part of town, it’s THIS HOUSE! I have loved this place for years, and I was so excited when I saw it come across the MLS today!

Built in 1938 in sort of a whimsical gingerbread//Tudor/French Norman style, this petit chateau looks like it belongs in a fairy tale. In fact, it’s a brilliant example of 1930s storybook architecture – both classical and playful at the same time. If it was mine, I would be so temped to put a thatch roof on it!

The pictures pretty much tell the story here, and I wasn’t able to find any historical info on the property, so I’m just going to quit typing and let you enjoy the eye candy…

Listing courtesy of Tammy Wampler, Realty Executives, (314) 756-9100. More photos and info available here.

If you’d like a buyer’s agent to show you this sweet little one-of-a-kind house on a large corner lot, I’d be happy to help!
