What a week of real estate adventure! I’m working with a buyer who’s interested in unique horse properties near Ste. Genevieve wine country, and we’ve seen some pretty amazing homes lately. None can top the Bavarian castle in St. Mary, but this gorgeous country estate in Farmington definitely drew lots of oohs and aahs. Here’s why:
1) the house. It’s flat-out beautiful. Even though it was built in 2002, and I usually don’t like newer homes, this place just sparkled with quality craftsmanship and vintage-style details. It looks like it belongs in a magazine, and I should know. I spent ten years scouting great locations just like this for magazines. I LOVE the French Country vibe, the vaulted paneled ceiling in the master bedroom (sorry, no pics), the brick & stone exterior, and the awesome patio out back.
2) the land. WOW!! This property comes with 115 acres, fully fenced and ideal for horses. You get woods. You get creek. You get pasture. There’s even a cabin at the very back of the land, overlooking one of two small ponds. And let’s not forget the five-stall barn and old machine shop.
3) the location. On top of easy highway access and a quick 90 minute drive from St. Louis, the coolest thing about this place is the fact that it’s within walking distance to two fun destinations: Hawn State Park and Pickle Springs Natural Area. Both are known for neat hiking trails, dramatic rock formations and abundant springs and waterfalls, and they are literally right across the street.
In other words, this unique country estate is fabulous! But you can see that for yourself….
