Greetings from Old Ferguson West!

OK, this is a kind of weird. And awesome.

I was doing some research for a client today and happened to google my own neighborhood. Hardly anyone heard about it, but last November, Old Ferguson West, where I’ve lived for 13 years, received the prestigious designation of being named to the National Register of Historic Places.

I always meant to showcase OFW’s eclectic vintage architecture on my North County blog, NOCO, but I never got around to it. So I guess I’ll just have to do it here someday. In the mean time, check this out…

I learned tonight that Wikipedia’s primary photo for the Old Ferguson West Historic District, which you can see above, shows MY OWN HOUSE! This pic was apparently taken in September, before I had a chance to finish painting my fence and close my mailbox, but otherwise this is a lovely shot of my beloved 110-year-old home. What a pleasant surprise!

Which reminds me… if you want to see my charming historic neighborhood up close, make sure you buy a ticket to Ferguson’s annual Twilight Christmas House Tour! I’ll be posting more info soon, but let me just say five magic words for now: mid-century modern & storybook tudor. We have two really amazing houses that you won’t want to miss!
