Whenever I’m working with buyers, my dream scenario for them is to find a house that has been lovingly maintained. “As-is” houses are usually cheaper, and for those with ample money and/or skills, they can be a great option. But for most people, a home where you’re simply continuing a record of care, as opposed to making up for years or even decades of neglect, is usually the better choice.
That’s why I was thrilled to get a call recently from my neighbor Vicki. Aside from being a remarkably kind & generous gal, Vicki is also one of the most meticulous people I’ve ever met. So when she told me she wanted to sell her 1940s Cape Cod bungalow, which her parents originally bought in 1956, I knew some lucky buyer was about to hit the jackpot!
The house isn’t huge – 1372 square feet – but every inch has been beautifully maintained! And pretty much everything that could be updated already is….roof, electric, plumbing, kitchen, flooring, gutters, bath fixtures & HVAC.
My favorite feature is this large sitting room upstairs, which opens onto a bedroom and walk-in closet. I also like the newer 2-car garage, the gorgeous cove ceilings in the living room and the updated vintage bathroom….
Of course, if you lived here, you’d have to get used to walking to an award-winning farmers market. Or being able to take a bike trail straight to Metrolink. Or enjoying fresh beer at your local microbrewery.
You might also have to brag to friends that your house is located in a National Register Historic District, right down the street from a wonderful community garden and the oldest organic farm in Missouri.
But don’t worry, I’ll be here to coach you! So what do you say? Would you like to be my neighbor?
217 Tiffin has 3 bedrooms & 1 bath and sits on .20 acres. It was listed by me on Monday for $110,000.
If you’d like to take a look at this pristine vintage home, give me a call!
