One of my favorite things about specializing in vintage houses is the occasional discovery of original documents! I love nothing more than to find a box or file drawer stuffed with appliance manuals and blueprints, and that’s exactly what I unearthed at my husband’s aunt’s house recently.
She lived in a 1950s ranch that my husband’s uncles & father built by hand, and she literally kept every single receipt. On top of that, her house was a genuine time capsule, with lamps and furniture that hadn’t moved in decades and a 50s pink & black bathroom that is absolutely classic!
Of all the interesting paper goods Aunt Sis left behind, I’m probably most excited about this…
It’s a multi-page brochure for etched glass shower doors, featuring some iconic mid-century motifs…
And she even kept the price list…
If any of you vintage lovers are open to the Orchard Farm area, contact me ASAP! The view at Aunt Sis’ house is glorious and the price is right!! And there are lots more original receipts to dig through!
I also stumbled upon another fabulous mid-century home recently, the one with that awesome bathroom above. Talk about a sweet 50s shower door!
If you want more info on Aunt Sis’ or the 1952 gem at 5569 Norway, which also has a huge yard & canning kitchen, give me a call!
