Grab Bag: Colorado on my Mind

July 16, 2014 , In: Residential Properties , With: No Comments

After vacationing last week in Colorado, waking up to stunning views like this every day, I’m definitely still dragging my feet on the whole “back to real life in St. Louis” thing. But alas, this is my hometown and I’m a glass half full type of gal, so I’m gonna try to make the best of it! Here are a few local houses that totally capture the mountain vibe. And the best part is, you don’t have to drive through Kansas to enjoy them….

2158 Butterfield Ct, Maryland Heights – This place is such a find! Not only is the location fabulous – backing to woods and just minutes to Creve Coeur Park – but this 1970 ranch offers the perfect blend of contemporary and rustic style. I love the facade, the tall ceilings and open layout inside, and of course the saltwater pool! 5+3, 1576sf, $289,000, listed by Claire Jackson, Keller Williams.

174 Wild Flower Trail, Franklin County – It’s hard to beat a beautiful wall of windows, especially when you’re surrounded by 7 acres of wooded privacy! This 1989 timber chalet is just oozing with Colorado flavor, and it has the added benefit of actually sitting on a mountain. OK, not a real mountain but our best rocky hillside equivalent along the 44 corridor, which means you should still be able to enjoy some lovely views! 5+5, 2460sf, 4 garages, listed by Sandy Trenz, RE/MAX, for $439,000.

840 Stonecastle Ct, O’Fallon – If you like the look of the previous house, this one should really set your heart aflutter. It’s way more expensive and a whole lot larger, but the interior details just about scream COLORADO! I call this style elegant/rustic because they incorporate lots of natural elements but in a very sophisticated way. Ralph Lauren would be proud. 5+6, 3726sf, 8 garages, listed by John Cochran, Coldwell Banker Gundaker, for $1,700,000.

515 Busch Forest, Fenton – Ah, more timber and stone – this time in a multi-level! Built in 1991, this custom home offers soaring ceilings, great natural light and a super sweet locale right next to George Winter Park. You can walk to the Meramec River, or ride horses on your 3-acre lot. There’s even a barn! This one needs some TLC, and it’s being sold as a short sale, but there’s loads of potential here! 4+5, 3184sf, 4 garages, listed by Scott Hill, Coldwell Banker Gundaker, for $420,000.

187 Hirshweg Drive- Charming chalet...

187 Hirshweg, Innsbrook – It seems like every day I see a new listing in Innsbrook, the resort community about an hour west of St. Louis. I admit I don’t know much about it, other than it has 100 lakes, but I can’t deny the absolute wealth of Colorado-style homes that are located there. Adorable chalets like this one are plentiful at Innsbrook, and they all come with at least an acre of land, sometimes even 5 acres or more! If you can’t afford to get away to the Rockies, perhaps this could be Plan B? 1+1, 1000sf, 3.99 acres, listed by Deborah Balek, Berkshire Hathaway Select, for $139,500.

If you’d like a buyer’s agent to show you any of these unique properties (or you have a unique/vintage property to sell), give me a call…
