Open Sunday: Five Sweet 50s Ranches

April 12, 2014 , In: Residential Properties , With: No Comments

How about a nice Sunday drive? Whether you start from north or south, this “50s ranch route” will take you past five open houses!

Smack dab in the middle is this 1957 beauty in Creve Coeur. It’s fully updated and features vaulted ceilings and a large deck overlooking a private back yard. It’s also surrounded by some very pricey real estate! 6 Morwood has 4 bedrooms & 2 baths in 2008 square feet. It’s listed by Miriam Green, Laura McCarthy, for $355,000 and is open Sunday 1-3pm.

Great Large Full Brick Home...

OK, I really like this house! Built in 1956, it has a gorgeous open layout, a charming original kitchen and nearly a half-acre of land. But it’s a little too far south for me, and a little too close to the highway. Maybe it’s the right one for you? 4947 Mount Royal has bedrooms & 1.5 baths in 1690 square feet. It’s listed by Phyllis Alexander, RE/MAX, for $174,900 and is open Sunday 1-3pm.

If you’re looking for a meticulously clean house that also has a huge yard, don’t miss this 1956 cutie in St. Ann. It’s on the smaller side but there’s plenty of land to build out. In fact, the .775 acre property backs to McDonnell County Park! I showed this house a couple days ago and it’s a real gem! 10936 Townley has 3 bedrooms & 1.5 baths in 1198 square feet. It’s listed by Patti Thomas, RE/MAX, for $134,500 and is open Sunday 1-3pm.

This hidden section of Hazelwood is often overlooked but you’ll find some fabulous mid-century homes there, like this lovely 1955 ranch. It’s pretty darn attractive from the outside, but inside is even better, with 2 fireplaces and loads of great updates! I wish the basement was more than a crawl space but at least the lot is a good size at .358 acre. 18 Kenwood has 3 bedrooms & 2 baths in 1581 square feet. It’s listed by Evelyn Krazer, Sunshine Realty, for $119,900 and is open Sunday 1-3pm.

The oldest house in the bunch, this 1954 U.City ranch is also the only one beyond the 270 corridor. It’s actually just off of Delmar but is definitely worth a visit, specifically for the original built-ins, dramatic tilted front window and whatever you call the awesomeness going on above the dining room table! Skylight? Rounded tray ceiling?? I don’t know but it’s cool! 545 Delprice Ct has 2 bedrooms & 2 baths in 1766 square feet. It’s listed by Ted Wight, Dielmann Sotheby’s, for $229,000 and is open Sunday 1-3pm.

If you’d like a buyer’s agent to show you any of these unique properties, or write up an offer after you’ve hit the open houses,  give me a call…
